After serving 8 years in the US Navy, Ryan earned a Civil Engineering degree from MU in 2011. His career thereafter ultimately led him into contact with Kissick Construction on several large US Army Corps of Engineers projects in the region, where he was responsible for construction inspections of 21 levee units and managing a team of six personnel for his previous employer. Ryan became impressed with Kissick's personnel and quality and eagerly joined the company in his new position as Project Manager.
