Daniel Volz has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Daniel is currently the co-founder and CEO of Kipu Quantum, a position they have held since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at BASF SE as a Project Manager from February 2020 to August 2022.

Before joining BASF, Daniel worked at McKinsey & Company as a Senior Management Consultant. In this role, they built up a global activities on quantum computing across industries and provided consulting services to clients in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and finance. Daniel also worked in management consulting, focusing on strategy, operations, marketing, sales, organization, and M&A. Daniel'score industries of expertise include specialty chemicals, electronic materials, agrochemicals, global energy, and materials. Daniel had a global focus, particularly in China, Japan, South Korea, the US, and Switzerland. Daniel'stenure at McKinsey lasted from 2017 to 2020.

Before McKinsey, Daniel worked at CYNORA for several years. Daniel held various roles within the company, including Team Lead, Project Coordinator, Strategist, and Scientist. Daniel was responsible for coordinating CYNORA's research division and developing new materials for organic light-emitting diodes. Daniel also led research projects, managed risk, conducted competitor analyses, and engaged in strategic planning. Additionally, they coordinated projects and collaborations with academic and industrial partners. Daniel'swork at CYNORA involved designing new lead structures, studying the influence of processing conditions on materials, and developing feasible and cost-efficient concepts for solution processing. Daniel worked at CYNORA from 2009 to 2017.

Daniel's earlier work experience includes a role as a Freelance Journalist at BNN - Badische Neueste Nachrichten Badendruck GmbH from 2005 to 2012.

Daniel Volz completed their education at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). From 2006 to 2011, they pursued a degree in Chemistry and obtained their Diplom. Later, from 2012 to 2014, they pursued a PhD thesis in Chemistry at the same institution.
