Eric DeSobe has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Eric is currently the Director of Talent Acquisition at KIPP SoCal Public Schools, where they are responsible for leading innovative retention projects, training managers, overseeing talent acquisition, and project leading the online summer school program.
Prior to this, Eric served as Vice President and later President at the Del Rey Neighborhood Council, where they worked towards improving the community and increasing influence with City lawmakers and departments.
Eric also worked at GREAT PUBLIC SCHOOLS NOW as the Director of Talent, where they demonstrated expertise in talent ecosystems, strategic planning, adult learning, and facilitation. Eric managed complex multi-year grant-funded projects and built and managed teams of direct and indirect reports.
Additionally, Eric served as the Los Angeles Chapter Board President at New Leaders Council, an entrepreneurial leadership program for progressive young professionals. Eric provided training, mentoring, networking, and job placement opportunities for emerging leaders.
Before that, Eric held positions at Teach for America as an Upper Elementary Math and Science Online Community Leader, KIPP LA Schools as an Associate Director of Recruitment, Alliant International University as a Program Director, and COMPTON UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT and Compton Unified School District as a Teacher.
Throughout their career, Eric has demonstrated their passion for talent development, community improvement, education, and leadership development.
Eric DeSobe completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Emory University in the year 2001. Eric then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Loyola Marymount University, covering the period from 2001 to 2003. Following this, Eric attended Harvard University, where they completed a Masters of Theological Studies degree in Theology and Politics between 2003 and 2005. It is worth mentioning that Eric had previously achieved a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History from Emory University, although specific start and end years for this degree were not mentioned.
