Samantha Mueller Sobrero has a diverse work experience in the education field. Samantha started their career as a Corps Member for Teach For America in 2012, where they received intensive summer training before teaching in under-resourced public schools for two years. Samantha then joined The Neighborhood Charter School of Harlem as a Special Education Teacher, where they played a role in selecting and implementing curriculum aligned to Common Core Standards. Samantha designed rigorous lesson plans and delivered stimulating lessons to a diverse group of 31 children. In 2014, Samantha worked as an Instructional Specialist for LightSail Education, where they trained teachers and students on using the LightSail iPad/tablet application for literacy goals. Samantha also worked at KIPP NYC as a Special Education Teacher, providing specialized instruction to students with special needs, English language learners, and general education students. Samantha supported teachers in differentiation, coordinated testing and services for students with IEPs and ELLs, and served as a mentor teacher. Samantha then transitioned to a role as Director of Education Catalyst for Teach For America in 2017. Currently, they are an Associate Director of Elementary Schools at KIPP Public Schools Northern California, where they oversee the elementary schools' operations and provides strategic leadership.
Samantha Mueller Sobrero has a strong educational background in special education and English language teaching. Samantha started their educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and Education Studies from UCLA, which they completed in 2012. During their time at UCLA, Samantha focused on exploring the field of education.
After completing their bachelor's degree, Samantha pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Early Childhood Special Education at Hunter College. Samantha attended Hunter College from 2012 to 2014, deepening their knowledge and skills in the field of special education for young children.

To augment their qualifications, Samantha obtained certifications from the New York State Education Department in areas such as Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (obtained in 2016) and Early Childhood Education (obtained in 2012), both covering the age range from birth through grade 12. Additionally, Samantha holds a certification in Early Childhood Special Education, which they obtained in 2012, covering the same age group.
