Cristal Hernandez has extensive experience in emergency medical services and education. Currently serving as an EMS at Northwell Health since January 2023 and as an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic at SeniorCare Emergency Medical Services since February 2021, Cristal previously worked as a Hyperbaric Oxygen Technician at Mercy Hospital & Medical Center. In the field of education, Cristal held roles as a Virtual Crew Expedition Instructor at NYC Outward Bound Schools and as an Adjunct Instructor at Princeton-Blairstown Center. Additional experience includes tutoring and serving as a City Year Americorps Member. Cristal earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Global Studies and Latin America and Latino Studies from Brandeis University, supplemented by studies in Peru and Chile focused on indigenous peoples, globalization, cultural identity, and social justice.
