Mazen Jarrar

Dean of Academic Affairs at King's Academy

Prior to joining King's Academy in 2007 as head of the Department of Physical and Life Sciences, Mazen Jarrar spent 13 years in a variety of teaching, research and managerial posts related to physics in particular and the sciences in general. Born and raised in Kuwait, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in physics from Jordan’s Yarmouk University.

In addition to his teaching experience, Mr. Jarrar has served in many different capacities within the field of education throughout the Middle East. His roles have included head of research department, head of physics department, principal, management committee member, International Baccalaureate coordinator and curriculum academic coordinator. He spent time at Amman Academy, the Aramco College Prep Center and various academic institutions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Mr. Jarrar currently serves as dean of academic affairs, as well as director of summer programs at King's. He also teaches physics in the Department of Physical and Life Sciences. He is a recipient of the Cambridge Queen Rania Teacher Award in honor of his work teaching Cambridge syllabi in Jordan and for "inspiring students and stimulating their interest in and understanding of a subject."

In 2013, Mr. Jarrar obtained a Master’s degree in multidisciplinary studies from the State University of New York College at Buffalo (SUNY).
