Richelle Jurasek-Kumar is an experienced ELD Instructional Coach at King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools since August 2021, where responsibilities include coaching teachers, monitoring ELPAC data, overseeing the EL reclassification process, and refining ELD curriculum. Prior to this role, Richelle served as the Senior Manager of Program Implementation for Peer Health Exchange, supervising volunteers and restructuring programs for equitable access. Previous experience includes serving as the ENL Department Head and Teacher at The Marie Curie High School for Medicine, Nursing, and Health Professions, where Richelle co-taught classes and organized professional development workshops. Additional roles include ESL Instructor at Brooklyn School of Languages, Paraprofessional at Mary McDowell Friends School, and Title 1 Tutor at Eagle Rock Jr/Sr High School. Richelle holds a Master of Arts in TESOL from Teachers College, Columbia University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Education Studies at UC San Diego, following a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from Occidental College.
