Rafiq Islam, PhD, is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as the RNG Engineer Lead at Kinder Morgan, Inc. since December 2022, where responsibilities include leading engineering activities for Renewable Natural Gas facilities across multiple states. Prior to this role, Rafiq held key positions at ExxonMobil as a Technical Lead in Hydroprocessing and Heavy Oils Process Engineer, and at ConocoPhillips as a Senior Project Engineer and Senior Process Engineer, focusing on process optimization and management in various petroleum and gas projects. Rafiq's earlier career includes roles at Petrobangla and Niko Resources, alongside significant research contributions as a Research Assistant at Lamar University, culminating in a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Lamar University and a Bachelor's degree from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.
