Karen Herrera, Ed.D., currently serves as the Director of Fine Arts for Killeen ISD since July 2014, overseeing program direction, budgeting, event management, and staff development. Prior experience includes the role of Director of Fine Arts at McAllen ISD from August 2007 to June 2014, and serving as a Guest Lecturer in Arts Integration at The University of Texas at Austin for a brief period in 2013. Additionally, Karen Herrera held positions as Assistant Principal and Choir Director at McAllen ISD, contributing to education since 1992. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University, a Master's degree in Education Administration from the University of Texas Pan American, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from The University of Texas at Austin.
