Sameer Kishore has had diverse work experience in the field of virtual reality and immersive technology. Sameer worked as a Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University Dubai from September 2019. Prior to that, Sameer was the Head of Medical Rehab & VR Innovation at Virtual Bodyworks from January 2019, where they developed immersive virtual reality applications for medical and psychological rehabilitation. Sameer also worked as a Virtual Reality Developer at the same company from January 2017.
Before joining Virtual Bodyworks, Sameer worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Universitat de Barcelona from February 2016 to December 2016. In this role, they conducted research on the influence of virtual embodiment on intelligence and designed a study to investigate the effect of the virtual body's appearance on cognitive and implicit behaviors. Sameer also worked as a Researcher PHD Student at the same university from May 2011 to January 2016. During this time, Sameer contributed to research and development of environments and scenarios for Human-Robot Interactions and Robotic Embodiment, using various programming languages and IDEs to manipulate humanoid robots and conduct experiments under European research projects.
Sameer Kishore holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Virtual Reality from Universitat de Barcelona, which they obtained from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Computer Graphics, Vision and Imaging from UCL from 2009 to 2010. Sameer also holds a Bachelor of Engineering - BE degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute Of Technology and Science, Pilani Dubai, which they completed from 2005 to 2009. In addition, Sameer has obtained the Duolingo Spanish Fluency certification at an intermediate level from Duolingo in 2016.
