Riku Valleala has served as the Communications Manager at Huippu-urheilun instituutti KIHU - Finnish Institute of High Performance Sport KIHU since August 2001, overseeing all communication and ICT operations and leading the communications and ICT unit from 2009 to 2019. In addition, Riku has contributed as an Expert in Electronic Communications, developing performance feedback systems for athletes and enhancing website and information systems. Through research in skill and power sports, Riku has supported coaches and athletes in various national teams. Prior experience includes a role as a Physical Education Teacher for the Finnish Defence Forces. Riku holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Information Systems Science from the University of Jyväskylä, a Tiedottaja II certification in Corporate Communications from Helsingin yliopiston Koulutus- ja kehittämiskeskus Palmenia, and a Master of Science in Biomechanics from the University of Jyväskylä.
