Alina Sorgner currently serves as an Associate Professor of Applied Data Analytics and Department Chair of the Business Administration Department at John Cabot University since January 2018. Additionally, Sorgner holds the position of Research Fellow at both the Institut für Weltwirtschaft in Kiel and the IZA - Institute of Labor Economics since February 2017 and October 2018, respectively. Previous roles include a consultant on digitalization and labor markets at the International Labour Organization in 2020, and expertise in economic development, innovation, and gender and industrialization for UNIDO in 2019. Sorgner's prior academic experience includes a tenure as a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at the University of Jena from 2008 to 2017, along with research fellowships at Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V. (DIW Berlin) in 2013-2014 and 2011.
