Wonkyu Kang is a seasoned automotive design professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as the Head of the Kia Future Design Group and the Kia Design Innovation Group at Kia Worldwide since November 2020, Wonkyu previously held the position of Creative Director Automotive at Designworks, a BMW Group Company, from July 2017 to November 2020. With a significant tenure at BMW Group from September 2005 to June 2017, Wonkyu progressed from Exterior Designer to Senior Exterior Designer and ultimately Creative Director, contributing to major projects including core products, concept vehicles, and the BMW i Brand. Earlier experience includes working as an Interior Designer at Hyundai in 2001. Wonkyu holds a BS in Transportation Design from ArtCenter College of Design and a BA in Industrial Design from Hongik University.
