Rachel Ng has a diverse range of work experience in the legal and corporate sector. Rachel started their career as a Pupil in Chambers at Skrine before becoming an Associate in the Corporate department. During their time at Skrine, Rachel was involved in various mergers and acquisitions, including the acquisition of an insurance company. Rachel also provided legal advice on corporate law issues and regulatory frameworks.
Rachel then moved to Rahmat Lim & Partners, where they worked as an Associate in the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions department. Here, they advised foreign private equity firms on acquiring stakes in Malaysian companies across various industries. Rachel led legal due diligence teams and assisted in negotiating and drafting transaction documents.
Currently, Rachel is working at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, where they have held multiple roles. As the Vice President - Legal, they led projects and transactions, developed a framework for legal fund investment, and handled cross-border transactions, primarily in China, Vietnam, and the United States. Rachel's previous role was as an Assistant Vice President - Legal, where they reviewed engagement terms, assisted with transactions, provided legal advice on regulatory issues, and maintained knowledge management.
In their current role as Vice President - Airlines at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Rachel is responsible for monitoring and assessing the airline asset, improving operations, and developing a long-term strategy for the aviation group. Rachel also manages internal and external nominee directors and establishes a governance structure for decision-making within Khazanah.
Rachel Ng received a Bachelor's Degree in Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2006 to 2009. Rachel then pursued their Bar Vocational Course in Law at BPP Law School from 2009 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Higher School Certificate from Abbotsleigh in 2004.
