Geoff Watson is an accomplished mining engineer with extensive experience in the coal industry, currently serving as the Principal Mine Planning Engineer at Kestrel Coal Resources since August 2020, where the Kestrel Underground Metallurgical Coal Mine received the Metallurgical Coal Mine of the Year award at Australia's Mining Monthly Awards 2020. Previous roles include Study/Project Manager at Peabody Energy, providing value and sustainability for underground coal projects, and several senior positions at MEC Mining, Peabody Energy, Runge, Centennial Coal, Anglo American Metallurgical Coal, and UK Coal, where Geoff has contributed to various aspects of mining operations, including technical evaluations, project management, and safety initiatives. Geoff holds a Master of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Exeter and a Higher National Diploma in Mining & Mechanical Engineering from Doncaster College of Higher Education.
