Ruth Nyamwathi Kamau is a highly qualified Protection and Control Engineer at Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) since April 2019, having previously served as a Graduate Electrical Engineer. Ruth's career includes experience as a Design Engineer at EGE, focusing on electrical installation design using CAD software, and a trainee at Geothermal Development Company, where valuable technical skills in geothermal well drilling and maintenance of rig equipment were acquired. Internships at the Energy Regulatory Commission and Kenya Power and Lighting Company provided insights into power utility licensing and hands-on experience in electric power transmission and distribution. Ruth holds a Master’s degree in Energy Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Technical University of Kenya, along with several MOOCs in related fields.
