Betsy McCafferty is a seasoned human resources professional currently serving as Associate VP of People and Culture at Kent State University since March 2024. Previous roles include Director of Human Resources at Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority from April 2015 to March 2024 and Human Resources Administrator at the City of Macedonia from April 2013 to April 2015. Betsy also worked as an Executive Recruiter and Human Resources Consultant at Gans, Gans & Associates from 2005 to April 2015 and held the position of Assistant Director of HR at Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority for a brief period in 2002-2003. Earlier in the career, Betsy was Chief of Personnel Management for the City of Cleveland from 1999 to 2002 and served as Deputy Director and Labor Negotiator at the Ohio School Boards Association from 1992 to 1999. Academic qualifications include a Master of Public Administration (MPA) specializing in Human Resources, a Master of Labor and Human Resources, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, all from The Ohio State University.
