Damani Saunderson has a diverse work experience. Damani began their career in 1982 as an Educator at the NYC Department of Education, where they worked until 2011. During this time, they also worked as a ZMT Operator at the United States Postal Service from October 1982 to January 1983. In 2004, Saunderson joined KBB as a CFO, where they currently hold the role.

Damani Saunderson earned a Master's degree in History from Brooklyn College, which they attended from 1976 to 1986.
