Erwin Bastiaens has extensive experience in fixed income portfolio management, currently serving as Head of Fixed Income - Rates & Emerging Markets at KBC Asset Management since December 2000. In this role, Erwin leads specialized teams to actively manage duration, yield curve, FX, and country positions, aiming to outperform benchmarks in both EMU Sovereign Bond and Global Emerging Market portfolios. Previously, Erwin held various leadership positions, including Head of Fixed Income - EMU Rates and Head of Product and Portfolio Development, contributing significantly to structured solutions for asset management clients. Erwin's academic background includes a Master of Science in Economics focusing on International Monetary Economics/Econometrics from KU Leuven, along with two additional master's degrees from the same institution.
