Alissa Hayes is an experienced educator specializing in language instruction, currently serving as a Spanish Teacher at Kavod Charter School since August 2022, where responsibilities include designing and implementing Spanish-language curriculum for diverse student groups. Previously, Alissa taught Spanish 2 and Freshman Leadership and Inquiry at Lincoln High School in Portland, OR, while simultaneously developing skills as a graduate teacher candidate. Additional teaching experience includes roles as a student teacher in World Languages, a preschool teacher at The Children's Garden, a private English tutor for non-native speakers, and an English teacher for secondary Spanish students through the Consejería de Educación, Juventud y Deporte. Alissa holds a Master of Education from Portland State University, a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Oregon, along with studies at Universidad Austral de Chile.
