Steve Phillips has a strong background in finance and operations management. Steve began their career at Valeo Wiper Systems in 1994 as a Plant Controller. Steve then joined Textron Automotive Company in 1996, where they worked as a Plant Controller for four years. In 2001, Steve joined Kautex Textron as a Group Controller, a role they held until 2012. During their time at Kautex Textron, they also served as the Group Controller for North America from 2004 to 2012. From 2013 to 2017, Steve worked as the Director of Operations for the Windsor Manufacturing Site at Kautex Textron. Currently, they are the Director of Procurement and Materials Management for the Americas at Kautex Textron.

Steve Phillips attended Penyrheol Comprehensive from 1977 to 1984. Steve then went on to study at Cardiff University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy & Economics from 1984 to 1987. Additionally, they hold certifications in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Textron and IATF 16949 Auditor from Omnex Inc. It is unclear when they obtained their Chartered Accountant certification from ICAEW.
