Clarke Nelson is an accomplished ophthalmologist currently affiliated with Katzen Eye Group since June 2023. Nelson has extensive training, including an ongoing residency in ophthalmology at Howard University Hospital since June 2018 and a concurrent internal medicine residency at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Prior experience includes working as an ophthalmologist at Barenburg Eye Associates from August 2021 to July 2023. Academic credentials include a BS in Physics from Vanderbilt University (2003-2007) and both an MD and PhD in Regenerative Engineering from the University of Connecticut Health Center. Nelson's research focus is on biomaterials.
