Farooq A. is an experienced professional in conservation genetics and genomics, currently serving as the Director of the Qatar Falcon Genome Project since January 2016. In addition to this role, Farooq A. is a Staff Scientist (Adjunct) at Sidra Medicine, Coordinator and Instructor at Qatar Scientists in Biological Diversity at Qatar University, and a Research Scientist at The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara. Farooq A. also holds positions as Co-Director and Moderator for the Qatar International Falcon Veterinary Conference and Scientific Advisor for the Qatar Falconers Release Project. Farooq A. has previously worked as a Doctoral Researcher at Monash University and a Visiting Scientist at The Rockefeller University. Farooq A. earned a PhD in Genomics and Bioinformatics from Monash University, along with an Honours Degree in Molecular Genetics and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology.
