Tim Prior is an experienced professional currently serving as the Head of Planning and Projects and Deputy Head of Department for Civil Protection at Kanton Bern since December 2023, where leadership involves managing scientific projects related to civil protection and disaster management. Prior's previous role as Business Continuity Manager at Swisscom from January 2020 to November 2023 focused on establishing a Business Continuity Management System and integrating risk management with IT service continuity. Prior also led a research team at ETH Zurich from February 2012 to January 2020, concentrating on resilience and disaster management. Earlier experience includes serving as Research Principal at the University of Technology Sydney's Institute for Sustainable Futures. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Environmental Psychology and Disaster Management from the University of Tasmania, a Master’s in Natural Resources Management and Policy from James Cook University, and a Bachelor's in Marine Ecology from the same institution.
