Monica Curls, MA, MSOD, serves as a School Board Member for Kansas City Public Schools since April 2023 and holds the position of Manager of Government Compliance at Terracon since September 2015, overseeing government compliance billing and contract accounting. Previous roles include Project Controls Analyst and Senior Procurement Representative at Black & Veatch, as well as Management Consultant for political campaigns. Monica has extensive experience as Director of the Kansas City Field Office for the Missouri Secretary of State, and as a Consultant with BearingPoint, where training and compliance support for USAID projects were primary responsibilities. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, dual master’s degrees from Avila University, and certificates in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and Women’s Campaign School from Yale University.
