Ashvan Sewpaul has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. In 2001, they started their career as Legal Manager at Protea Finance, where they worked until 2003. In 2003, they joined Lendcor (Pty) Ltd as Operations Director and remained in that role until 2017. In 2020, they joined Kanga Finance (Pty) Ltd as Chief Operating Officer and later became the Director of Operations in 2022.

Ashvan Sewpaul completed an International Executive Development in Development Finance program at Wits Business School in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 2007 to 2011. Before their undergraduate studies, they attended Durban University of Technology from 1996 to 2000, where they studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
