David Russell has over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing and engineering industry. David began their career in 1984 as an Engineer at Fisher & Paykel Appliances. After five years, they moved to AMD where they worked as a Financial Analyst. In 1993, they joined Cisco Systems and held various roles, including Head of Manufacturing for the Desktop Switching Business Unit, New Product Introduction Manager, Manufacturing Production Manager, and Production Planning Program Manager. In 2005, they joined Google as the Head of Datacenter Supply Chain Team. David also worked as a Manufacturing Adviser at Heath Ceramics and as Head of Specialist Manufacturing at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. From 2011 to 2014, they were a part of the New Zealand Startup and Angel Investment group Flying Kiwi Angels. In 2017, they joined Wrightspeed as the Vice President of Manufacturing and in 2019 they started working as a Manufacturing Consultant at Saildrone Inc. In 2021, they were promoted to Vice President of Production at Saildrone Inc.
David Russell has an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. David also holds a B. Engineering (First Class Hons) from The University of Auckland and a GradDipScience in Computer Science from the same university.
