Rémy Gauguey has a diverse work experience in the field of embedded systems and artificial neural networks. Rémy worked at Kalray as a Software Architect starting in 2018. Prior to that, Rémy worked at CEA as a Research engineer from 2011 to 2018. At CEA, they were involved in projects related to multi-core architectures, software architecture for multicore ARMv8 SoC, and artificial neural networks. Between 2004 and 2010, Rémy worked at Mindspeed Technologies as a Principal System Engineer, where they focused on CPE system software architecture and IPsec integration. Before that, Rémy was a Senior System Engineer at Conexant from 1997 to 2004. Rémy began their career as an engineer at Syntech in 1995, where they worked on DSP engineering for audio/video remote monitoring products.

Rémy Gauguey began their education in 1989 at Lycée la Martinière Montplaisir SupT'. Although the exact degree and field of study during this time are unknown, it can be inferred that they completed their education at this institution in 1990. Following this, Rémy Gauguey attended Arts et Métiers ParisTech - École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers from 1991 to 1994, where they obtained a degree in engineering with a generalist field of study.
