Adam Schumaker serves as the Director of Education for the Irving S. Gilmore International Keyboard Festival since December 2010, overseeing various music education programs while managing a team of 12-15 instructors. Additionally, Adam holds the position of Visiting Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Kalamazoo College, where responsibilities include teaching electronic music and performing arts administration, along with developing "studio 226." As a freelance composer, Adam has completed commissions for notable projects, including original music for Stryker and arrangements for the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. Previous teaching roles include part-time instruction at Western Michigan University and serving as the Director of Bands at The Gagie School. Adam's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Composition from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition from Principia College.
