Pilar Pedraza is an experienced journalist and educator with a diverse background in news reporting and instruction. Currently serving as Anchor and Senior Political Reporter at KAKE TV since September 2018, Pilar previously hosted and produced "Kansas Week" at KPTS, Channel 8, from June 2017 to May 2024. Pilar has also held positions as a Journalism Instructor at Wichita West High School and as a Political/Education Reporter at KWCH-TV, where coverage spanned breaking news, politics, and education in both English and Spanish. With earlier roles including Newsroom Manager and Producer at KSNW TV, and various positions at WOI TV, Pilar has developed a comprehensive skill set in journalism, including photography, editing, and production. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in History with an emphasis in 20th Century Politics from Pittsburg State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Spanish from Iowa State University, alongside certifications in teaching AP Spanish.
