Charlie Slaven

Charlie Slaven has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Charlie has held positions such as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Kaivac, Inc., where they focused on preparing the company for growth, built curriculum for quality control and sales onboarding, and developed new product development processes. Charlie later became the Chief Operating Officer at the same company, leading production and sourcing operations, human resources, and international sales.

Prior to their time at Kaivac, Inc., Slaven served as the Past President of the Project Management Institute (PMI), where they oversaw certification training, professional development, and outreach programs. Charlie also worked as a Professor of Practice at Northern Kentucky University, responsible for developing and delivering curricula related to technology-based project management and other business areas.

In addition, Slaven has held various roles such as Director at Catapult Solutions Group, Director of Lean Deployment at The Christ Hospital Health Network, Master Process Engineer at Kroger, Treasurer at IIBA Cincinnati Chapter, Vice President at Max Technical Training, and VP and Managing Partner at Technology Management Partner. Charlie Slaven attended Miami University from 1968 to 1972, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a focus on Finance. Charlie then pursued further education at Miami University from 1972 to 1974 and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Accountancy. In 2018 and 2019, Charlie attended NKU Graduate Education, where they obtained an Executive Leadership and Organizational Change (ELOC) degree. Additionally, Charlie has obtained several certifications throughout their career, including "Outthink the Competition" from Growth Institute in 2021, "SAFe Program Consultant" from SAFE in 2018, "Certified Change Manager" from Change Guides in 2015, "Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt" from Harrington Group International, LLC. in 2006, "Project Management Professional (PMP)" from the Project Management Institute in 1996, and "CPA - inactive" from the Ohio Society of Public Accountants in 1977.
