Katarina DeFreitas, CPA, currently serves as an Audit Manager at KLR since June 2020, having previously held the position of Audit Supervisor in the same firm. Prior professional experience includes roles as Senior Auditor and Experienced Audit Staff at blumshapiro from October 2018 to May 2020, and Assurance Staff at EY from July 2016 to October 2018. In these positions, Katarina developed expertise in planning engagements, understanding client industries, and fostering effective communication within teams. Katarina's early career at the University of Rhode Island involved serving as a Resident Advisor from January 2015 to May 2016 and as a Summer Resident Advisor, where responsibilities included managing student living environments and promoting adherence to university regulations. Katarina holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island, earned in 2016.
