Yuliya Lanina is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Arts and Entertainment Technologies at The University of Texas at Austin, where responsibilities include developing and teaching a range of courses, from Senior Design Projects to Gender, Race, and Technology. In addition to academic roles, Yuliya is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of trauma, sexuality, and identity through visual art and technology. Yuliya has served as a Visiting Lecturer at Kadenze Inc. since June 2017, focusing on arts and gender studies, and has previously held positions at St. Edward's University, CUNY New York City College of Technology, and as a freelance animator, illustrator, and designer. Yuliya's earlier professional experience includes roles as a Senior Graphic Designer at Kaplan and Assistant Art Director at Cahners Publishing. Academic credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Mixed Media from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Purchase College, SUNY.
