Getsemani Marquez serves as an 11th Grade US/AP US History Teacher at Green Dot Public Schools since July 2014, focusing on innovative lesson planning aligned with Common Core standards and the critical evaluation of historical sources. In addition to teaching, Getsemani holds advisory roles on the School Advisory Council, participates as a Grade Level Leader for junior classes supporting English Learners and students with disabilities, and contributes to fostering school culture as part of the School Culture Team. Getsemani has also been involved with the just keep livin Foundation and served within the Youth Business Alliance, working on curriculum development and mentoring students in business education. Previous experience includes teaching 10th Grade World History at Lennox Mathematics Science and Technology Academy. Education includes a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of California, Riverside.
