Stefan Karpinski has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Stefan started their career as a Software Engineer at Akamai Technologies in 2000 and worked there for two years. In 2002, they joined the University of California as a Research Assistant and PhD Candidate, where they stayed for seven years. In 2003, Stefan worked as a Networking Researcher at Citrix Online for four years. Stefan then joined Adtuitive in 2009 as a Senior Developer and Researcher for two months before transitioning to an Engineer role at Etsy, where they worked for two years. In 2012, Stefan joined MIT as a Research Scientist, staying there for three years. Currently, they serve as the Chief Product Officer at JuliaHub since December 2015.
Stefan Karpinski completed their high school education at Regis High School from 1992 to 1996. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Harvard University, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. Stefan further expanded their knowledge in Computer Science by earning a PhD from UC Santa Barbara, specializing in the field, during the period of 2002 to 2009.
