Kelly Flowers has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Kelly started their career as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Santa Fe College in 2003 and continued in academia as a Lecturer at the University of Florida from 2003 to 2007. During this time, they also worked as a Market Research Analyst at the University of Florida Foundation from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, they joined RTI Surgical as a Product Manager, specializing in Sports Medicine, for a year. Kelly then moved on to UF Health, where they served as the Manager of Business Development for Neurosurgery & Neurology from 2010 to 2021. Currently, they are the Director of Marketing and Business Development at Jones Edmunds, a position they assumed in June 2021.

Later, they pursued a Master of Arts in Persuasion & Compliance Gaining from Michigan State University between 1999 and 2001. Kelly Flowers then attended the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business, where they completed a Master's degree in International Business from 2007 to 2008. Kelly furthered their education at the same institution, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from 2008 to 2010. Subsequently, they attended the University of Florida once again, completing a Master of Science in Health Education and Behavior from 2018 to 2020. Most recently, they enrolled at Florida State University, where they are currently pursuing a degree in Juris Master specializing in Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Technology Risk Management, which is expected to be completed between 2020 and 2023.
