Babak Pazooki, MD, MS, FACE, CPHQ has a diverse background with extensive work experience in healthcare. Babak began their career in 2006 as a Physician/Endocrinologist at Wyoming Medical Center, where they also served as Director of the Wyoming Weight Management Program and Director of the Diabetes Care Center. During this time, they provided oversight and support for the largest diabetes care center in the state and was a state adviser for clinical recommendations for diabetes care. Babak was also a lead author of a publication on clinical recommendations in diabetes management.
In 2009, Dr. Pazooki joined Presence St. Mary's Hospital as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, overseeing multiple departments including the Medical Staff Department and the Quality Department. Babak had direct responsibility for areas such as credentialing, privileges, competencies, compliance, and quality dashboards.
Dr. Pazooki's career also includes roles at DuPage Medical Group as an Endocriologist and at Duly Health and Care as a Physician. Currently, they work at Joint Commission International as an International Physician Consultant and Surveyor.
In addition to their clinical work, Dr. Pazooki has also served as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Wyoming from 2007 to 2009.
Babak Pazooki, MD, MS, FACE, CPHQ, completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine at Iran University of Medical Sciences from 1987 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Physiology and Molecular Biology from McGill University, from 1997 to 1999. Subsequently, they continued their academic journey at McGill University as a PhD candidate in Physiology and Molecular Biology, from 1999 to 2001. Babak then completed their Residency in Internal Medicine at BronxCare/Albert Einstein College of Medicine between 2001 and 2004. Lastly, they pursued a Fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism from 2004 to 2006 at the University of Cincinnati.
