Dr. Greer Barlow has a strong background in nursing and clinical informatics. Dr. Greer started their career at Saudi Aramco in 1990, where they worked in various nursing roles, including as a charge nurse and midwife in the labor and delivery unit. In 2002, they transitioned to a supervisory position, overseeing the OB/GYN unit. From 2006 to 2011, they served as a senior nursing supervisor in the peri-operative and medical surgical nursing sections. In 2011, Dr. Barlow joined Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) as a clinical informaticist. Their responsibilities included leading the clinical team for an integrated electronic health record project. In 2016, they took on the role of clinical information management and in 2024, they became the senior nursing director at JHAH.
Dr. Greer Barlow has an extensive education history. Dr. Greer earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from both Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing in 2015-2017. Dr. Greer also holds a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Informatics from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which they completed from 2003-2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Midwifery from South Bank University in London, UK, from 2001-2003. Dr. Greer also received a Diploma in Higher Education in Advanced Midwifery Practice from the same institution between 1999 and 2001. Additionally, they obtained a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare. Dr. Barlow holds several certifications, including a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare obtained in 2017, an EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation certification from Epic obtained in 2014, and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) certification from HIMSS obtained in 2011.
