Matteo Gravino began their work experience in 2014 as a PhD student at Sapienza University of Rome. Matteo held this position until 2017. In 2018, Matteo joined the John Innes Centre as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they currently work.

Matteo Gravino's education history begins with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Sapienza Università di Roma, which they obtained between 2003 and 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the same university, completing it from 2008 to 2010. Afterwards, they enrolled at the Università degli Studi della Tuscia, where they pursued a PhD in Plant Biotechnology from 2011 to 2014. Subsequently, they returned to Sapienza Università di Roma to pursue a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology, which they completed between 2014 and 2017.
