Stacey B. Johnson

Stacey B. Johnson is the current Chief Financial Officer at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Stacey has previously held this position at American Federation of Teachers from January 2017 to April 2022. As the CFO, they provided effective oversight of the organization's $350M financial assets while demonstrating accountability and integrity.

Stacey led the daily finance and accounting operations involving cash flow and funds management, audits, budgeting, payroll, risk management, and financial reporting. Additionally, they enhanced systems and processes to solve problems, ensure best practices, and create efficiencies through proficient attention to detail. As a leader, they also cultivated employee growth and development.

Lastly, they managed financial relationships between the international union and its local and state affiliates and key third-party service providers. Stacey worked hard to ensure the union's regulatory compliance requirements were met with various governing agencies.

During their time at American Federation of Teachers, they made several notable achievements. These include recently transitioning to a fully remote business operation by creating electronic workflows and modifying financial systems and procedures. Stacey also led the implementation of a new per-capita billing and payment tracking system which required cross-collaboration with departments, communication to member affiliates, change in past practice, training of core users, and project management expertise.

Stacey B. Johnson holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance from the University of Miami.
