John Schafer is an accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in the packaging industry, specializing in packaging machines, systems, food processing, and modified atmosphere packaging. Currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. since January 2012, John has held various leadership roles, including Director of Engineering and Engineering Manager. In addition, John operates Schafer Engineering, providing consulting services to the packaging industry. Previous positions include General Manager at Clear Lam Packaging's MAP Systems Division, Director of Marketing at Winpak Lane, and Product Line Manager and Project Manager at FMC. John holds a BS in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and completed a management program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in 2016.
