Nathan Arrison

Tooling Design at Joby Aviation

Nathan Arrison has a diverse range of work experience spanning several industries. Nathan began their career at Arrison Racing as a Driver and Assistant Crew Chief, where they were involved in the design and fabrication of NASCAR race cars. Nathan then moved on to Northern Architects Inc as a Model Production Lead for a brief period before joining Collings Guitars as a Production, Design, and CAD/CAM Engineer. At Collings Guitars, they played a key role in the assembly process of acoustic guitar necks and collaborated with the owner on design development and production processes. Following this, they worked at Reed Prototype + Machining as a Rapid Prototype and Model Maker, where they analyzed 3D parts and created prototypes for clients such as Apple, Dell, Microsoft, and Hewlett Packard. Nathan then joined Ellis Mandolins, Precision Pearl Inlay, Inc. as a Process Engineer Manager, where they designed and recreated the production process of mandolins and created 3D images using Mastercam. Nathan'srole also involved designing and manufacturing jigs and fixtures for mandolin production. Most recently, they worked at Santa Cruz Guitar Company as a Process Engineer Manager, where they were responsible for improving production systems, designing manufacturing systems, and integrating them into the company's processes. Nathan also played a role in material handling efficiency, quality assurance, and the development of new products. Currently, Nathan is working at Joby Aviation as a Tooling Design professional.

Nathan Arrison earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Vermont, where they attended from 1991 to 1995.
