Chris van Pelt

Technical Lead, Experimental Flight Research at Joby Aviation

Chris Van Pelt has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Chris started their career at Adam Aircraft as a Production Engineer from December 2005 to October 2008. Chris then became a Lead Methods Engineering Technician in the same company from May 2008 to October 2008.

In 2009, Chris worked as a Heavy Check Aircraft Mechanic at Frontier Airlines from January 2009 to November 2009. Chris then joined Air Methods as a Manufacturing Engineer from November 2009 to April 2010.

Chris Van Pelt then transitioned to The Spaceship Company, where they served as a Manufacturing Engineer - Cabin Area Lead from April 2010 to September 2014.

In 2014, they joined Wisk and took on various roles, including Sr. Manufacturing and Tooling Engineer from September 2014 to January 2018, Sr. Engineer, Vehicle Integration from May 2017 to January 2018, and Aircraft Integration Lead from June 2017 to January 2018.

Since 2018, Chris has been working at Joby Aviation, where they have held several roles. First, they were a Senior Integration Engineer from January 2018 to March 2018. Chris then became a Lead Integration Engineer from May 2018 to July 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Flight Research Project Engineer at Joby Aviation since July 2022.
