Petra Swenson's work experience begins in 2011 as a Reporter for Patch, where they remained until 2013. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Receptionist/Legal Assistant at Coogan Smith, LLP. In 2014, Petra joined John Moriarty & Associates as the Director of Risk Management, a role they currently hold.

Petra Swenson obtained their Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Keene State College, where they studied from 2002 to 2006.
