Murthy Vakkalanka has extensive work experience in the petroleum and mobility solutions industries. Murthy is currently serving as the Project Director - Mobility Solutions at Jio-bp (Reliance BP Mobility Limited), responsible for overseeing various projects. Prior to this, they held the position of Head EPC - Mobility Solutions at the same company. Before joining Jio-bp, Murthy worked at Reliance Industries Limited where they served as the Head EPC - Petroleum Marketing and Sr. Project Manager. Murthy also has experience working at Tecnimont as a General Manager (Projects) and Deputy GM Projects, at Petrofac as a Lead Engineer, at Larsen & Toubro Limited as an Asst Manager - Project Engineering, at Uhde India Limited as a Sr. Engineer, and at UB Petroproducts Limited as an Engineer.

Murthy Vakkalanka earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical & Electronics from the College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai during the period of 1985 to 1989. Following this, they pursued a Master of Engineering (ME) degree in Instrumentation at MIT, Anna University from 1990 to 1992. In addition to their formal education, Murthy Vakkalanka has obtained several certifications, including "Developing Business Acumen" and "ESG Expert Program" in 2023, "Introduction to ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance" and "Sustainability Strategies" in 2022, "Electric Vehicles & the Grid" in 2020, "Design Thinking for Innovation" in 2020, "Critical Thinking," "Building High-Performance Teams," "Executive Leadership," and "Strategic Thinking" in 2019. Furthermore, they hold a certification as a Certified Project Manager (IPMA - C) from the International Project Management Association.
