Co-Founder & CEO at Jia

Zach Marks has an extensive work experience spanning various industries and roles. Zach is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Jia, a company that empowers entrepreneurs worldwide to control their financial future. Prior to this, Zach served as an Advisory Board member at LA Forward Action in 2021.

Zach's previous roles include Director of Business Development at Tala, a financial technology company, where they played a key role in expanding their lending app to multiple countries and disbursing over $2B in loans. Zach also served as General Manager in India and Director of New Markets at Tala. Before Tala, Zach was the Co-Founder and COO of Oystir, an online jobs marketplace that was subsequently acquired by DOC.

In 2013, Zach co-founded Chai Wallahs of India, a successful photojournalism project that documented India's roadside tea vendors. Additionally, they worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, where they advised clients across various sectors on strategy and operations. Zach also worked as a Fulbright-Nehru English Teaching Assistant in India, teaching English and coaching sports teams.

Earlier in their career, Zach served as a Field Organizer for Obama for America during the 2008 U.S. presidential campaign. Zach also gained experience as a Policy Research Intern at both the Center for American Progress and The School District of Philadelphia.
