Eugene Toporov began their career as a QA Engineer at Validio Software in Ukraine from 1997 to 2000. Eugene then worked as a Business Systems Analyst at MIIK LLC from 2000 to 2006. Following that, they served as a Project Manager at TeamDev Ltd. from 2006 to 2008. Eugene Toporov then joined JetBrains in 2008, where they held various roles including Product Manager, Product Marketing Lead, and Marketing Lead. At JetBrains, they were responsible for coordinating product releases, leading a team of Product Marketing Managers, and creating product-related content.

Eugene Toporov obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from the National Aerospace University - 'Kharkiv Aviation Institute' from 1992 to 1998. In addition, they have a certification as a Prof G Certified Strategist from Section4, obtained in 2020.
