John Horne has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. John started their career as a Marketing Research Intern at the Texas Department of Agriculture, where they conducted research on the organic foods industry. John then worked as a Teachers' Aid at the McCombs School of Business, where they trained students on financial analysis tools.

After that, John worked as an Owners Rep/Engineering Assistant at the Harris County Public Infrastructure Department, where they played a key role in delivering landmark projects. John then joined Jacobs as a Project Controls Specialist, gaining experience in project planning and scheduling.

John later became a Partner at WITT + HORNE, focusing on sustainable communities, alternative building materials, and alternative energy. John returned to Jacobs as a Project Controls Manager in Morocco, implementing the company's systems and procedures.

Following their time at Jacobs, John became the Director of Project Controls at JESA S.A, overseeing 146 project controllers and developing a training program. Currently, they are working as the Director of JESA Global Project Delivery at Worley, a technical professional services firm. This role involves overseeing the acquisition of the Energy, Chemicals and Resources division of Jacobs and managing the joint venture with The OCP Group.

John Horne attended the Texas McCombs School of Business from an unknown start year to 2001, where they participated in the Business Honors Program. Before that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in The Plan II Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin, concluding in 2000. In 1999, they studied abroad at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, focusing on Portuguese Language, Brazilian History, and Culture. Additionally, in 1997, they participated in a study abroad program at the Universidad de Guanajuato, specifically Instituto Allende, concentrating on Intensive Spanish and Landscape Art. In 1996, John obtained an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
