Charlie Zelle has extensive experience in leadership roles across various sectors. Currently serving as Chair of the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities since January 2020, Charlie Zelle also holds the position of Chairman, President, and CEO at Jefferson Lines, a role that has been ongoing since June 1990. Additionally, Charlie Zelle has been a Director at Guthrie Theater since October 1995 and served as Commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Transportation from January 2013 to January 2019. Charlie Zelle's previous involvement includes being a Board Member at St. Paul Academy and Summit School from 1996 to 2010. Charlie Zelle earned an MBA from the Yale School of Management between 1981 and 1983, following an undergraduate degree from Bates College, received in 1977.
