Paul Thornton is a seasoned mining engineer with extensive experience in the mining industry. Currently serving as a Senior Mining Engineer at JDS Group of Companies since January 2024, Paul has previously held significant roles at Newmont Corporation, including Senior Engineer for Underground Projects and Project Engineer for Underground Mining. Prior to that, Paul worked as a Mine Planning Engineer at Minto Explorations Ltd and as a Project Engineer at Thyssen Mining and CanMine Contracting LP. Paul began the engineering career as a Mining Engineering Co-op Student at Teck Resources Limited and has research experience as a Metallurgical Researcher with UNIDO. Paul holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering and a minor in Commerce from The University of British Columbia, earned between 2010 and 2015.
